Motorola Solutions, Inc. was the company chosen by the County commissioners for upgrading county emergency communications systems. The upgrade includes emergency services communications with field units and the 911 dispatchers. The present UHF system will be expanded to be compatible with the WV Statewide Interoperable Radio Network. In addition, repeaters will be installed in the Sheriff Department vehicles and the radios upgraded to UHF/VHF "crossband" equipment like that of the WV State Police. Equipment should be installed on 4 towers; Short Mountain, Cacapon Mountain, a location in northern Morgan County, and a tower planned for Purslane Mountain. Source: Martinsburg Journal
